Dear Board Members and Association Members of The Woods I & II Property Owners Association,
I hope this message finds you well. I am requesting your thoughtful consideration and support for the proposed amendments to our bylaws, which were introduced at the November 7, 2024, Woods POA Board meeting. These updates are vital to ensuring our governing documents remain current, enforceable, and in harmony with recent changes in state law.
On September 1, 2023, updates to Texas Property Code Chapters 202 and 209 and Chapter 11 of the Texas Local Government Code went into effect. These changes reflect evolving legal standards and community priorities. By aligning our bylaws with these revisions, we can safeguard all property owners' rights while enhancing our governance's effectiveness and fairness.

Adopting these changes will help us maintain a governance structure that protects both the association and its members, reduces the likelihood of legal challenges, and fosters a cooperative, well-managed community.
Approving these updates reflects our shared commitment to responsible, forward-looking governance and ensures that we remain aligned with legislative developments. By doing so, we maintain our credibility as a well-managed Property Owners Association that continues to support a thriving neighborhood.

Dear Board Members and Association Members of The Woods I & II Property Owners Association,
The Board wanted to share an important update regarding the recent lowering of lake levels within our community. This action was necessary to facilitate essential repairs to the spillway portion of the dam.
Over time, the overflow of water, deterioration of concrete, and overgrowth of vegetation have significantly impacted the spillway's condition. These factors have undercut the backside of the structure, posing risks to its integrity. Lowering the water levels was a critical step to allow safe and effective access for construction crews to address these issues and effectuate the best possible repairs to the spillway.
In addition to the spillway repairs, we are also addressing repairs to the fountain. We are pleased to inform you that the fountain is expected to be fully operational before the first of the year.
We recognize that the reduced lake levels may cause temporary inconvenience, and we appreciate your understanding. Please know that these repairs are crucial to preserving the safety, stability, and long-term health of our shared lake and its surrounding environment.
